1. i once dropped a 10 cent piece inside my steering wheel. it would rattle inside and sometimes as i turn the wheel the coin would cause the horn to beep. this caused many uncomfortable situations and i would dread driving sometimes, and especially dread turning corners. it wasn’t even a short beep, it was usually a really long long BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. I finally took it to the car dealer and got them to take apart the steering wheel and the air bag, but i was too embarrassed to admit to dropping the coin so i told them my sister dropped it in there. they took it all apart and never found anything. but the coin has disappeared.
2. i am the pickiest eater ever. but i am getting better slowly. i dont eat many things, not because some food makes me sick, but just because i am picky.
3. i have been eating the same biscuits for 15 years. the strange thing is i have never seen anyone else buy them and i look inside every trolley in the supermarket to see if anyone else picked them of the shelf and to this day i havent found any evidence. i eat the biscuits by dunking them into whatever i drink, tea, water, diet coke, chocolate milk, anything.
4. i failed my first driving test without even getting in the car. the instructor said my tyres were too bald.
5. in a russian hospital, as i was being born they broke my left arm. then they brought to me my mother and said that my left arm was paralysed (because i could not move it). later it started to swell and they realised it was broken. then in hospital i caught pneumonia.
6. i was born with long black hair. since the hair was so long, the nurses tied little ribbons in it.
7. my favourite stuffed toy was a hedgehog and his name was ЁЖИК. it was a girl hedgehog with little pink ribbons. i tried to cut them off but they are still there. when we were coming to australia, my parents made up some lie as to what happened to ЁЖИК because they didn’t want to take it with them to australia. few years later when my grandmother went back to russia she brought ЁЖИК back.
8. i haven't cried for more than 10 years. and i miss it. but i cant even cry if i force myself. but sometimes, i get tears running down my face for no reason. as cris once said i got "cancer of the emotions".
9. i once had to get my fingernails pulled out.
10. i refused to go to the toilet in kindergarten. i would say "там пах". my mum would rush to pick me up, and as soon as we left the kindergarten, she would make me pee at the nearest tree. i also refused to dance in kindergarten, and refused to have naps, and was a generally a really difficult child. my mum stopped working and i stopped going to kindergarten and stayed at home.
11. i like to wear the same clothes but in different colours. i have the same t-shirt in at least 10 different colours. i used to wear the same corduroy pants in 3 different colours. and now i wear levis 502 jeans in different colours.
12. the first time i went skiing, i decided “i can’t be that hard” and went down the hill, didnt know how to slow down, and ended up sliding down on my ass and braking with my thumbs. i ended up fracturing my thumb and couldn’t hold the ski pole in my right hand, for the rest of the holiday.
13. in russia, just before we left, all this western food was becoming available. i used to really like these corn puff snacks and couldn’t stop eating them. my dad said that if i eat too much they would come out of my ears. soon after, i got a really bad earache and thought it was from the corn puffs.
14. i thought that people on the tv, could see me in the living room. because in russia, i was sitting on the couch watching a children’s show on tv, and the lady on the show said “get up of the couch and do some exercise”. i jumped up of the couch and was paranoid for months.
15. i used to have trouble saying Ss and Rs. I couldn’t even pronounce my name. Instead of saying Sasha Reznick, i would say Shasha Weznick. I had to go to a speech pathologist and practice rolling my Rs. Though i graduated successfully, i still have trouble pronouncing my last name in russian.
16. When planes land, i get the most horrible pain in my ears. all i can do is sit and suffer through it.
17. i am extremely good doing maths in my head.
18. i have a really good memory for numbers, number plates, birthdays.
19. when introduced to people, i never remember their names. i am too busy thinking things like “what a strange looking chin” or “she’s really hot”
20. i have a fear of putting my head under water.
21. i changed my passport when i was 16 so i could get into bars and clubs.
22. i faked my school certificate because i received mainly Bs and Cs, so i changed it to As and Bs.
23. i sleep with my eyes open sometimes.
24. i have a chest wall deformity, called funnel chest or pectus excavatum.
25. i will probably die young.
